ACCELERATION will bring a unique race and music festival to
ten European countries. On April 25th 2014, at the Autódromo do Algarve
in Portugal, the world will see the premiere of this series of events,
unrivalled in the world, touring the best racetracks in Europe. Targeted
towards families, ACCELERATION offers three days of exciting races, top
music performances, a great shopping experience and excellent food and
hospitality.
This was announced at yesterday's press conference in the ‘Theater Hangaar’ near The Hague, The Netherlands.
During the press conference, all details about ACCELERATION 2014 were announced. Former Dutch Minister of Finance Jan Kees de Jager was the host during this press conference. Also, none other than American actor David Hasselhoff
was present on Thursday. He introduced, among other things, a selection
of artists who will be performing at the ACCELERATION events. Some Team
managers were also present.
ACCELERATION 2014 has been created by experienced racing
professionals, both on and off the tarmac. The creator of ACCELERATON is
Loek Bodelier, 125cc Grand Prix racer and Renault Mégane Cup driver,
and now CEO of ACCELERATION 2014.
Loek Bodelier: “ACCELERATION is
an entire new way of looking at both racing and music. Especially in
the way it’s presented to its fans. Never before has racing on both two
and four wheels, in multiple appealing classes with talented drivers,
been brought together in such a complete and thrilling event. This
combination with many fantastic side activities and music will make
ACCELERATION 2014 the perfect family event.”
The races will
be held in five classes: three car and two bike classes. The car
categories are FA1, MW-V6 Pickup and Legend SuperCup. Two bike classes
will compete: European Stock 600 and European Stock 1000. All these
classes will offer maximum excitement with spectacular racing. The
nations teams having already confirmed their participation are Belgium
(Azerti), Sweden (Performance), Germany (GU-Racing), China (Team China
from Steven Lu and Jessica Lin), Netherlands (Provily Racing), Luxemburg
(Linders Racing) and Spain (Moma Motorsport). Negotiations with other
nations teams are well underway. Among them, Italy and Spain, with Pons.
Celebrate the ‘80s and ‘90s with The Hoff
The
music festival offers a different twist to ACCELERATION. Friday
evening, after the car and bike training, David Hasselhoff will present
“Celebrate the ‘80s and ‘90s with The Hoff”. With artists like 2
Unlimited, Twenty 4 Seven, Turbo B/Snap!, DJ Sash!, Kim Wilde, Nik
Kershaw, Samantha Fox, Rick Astley and the Vengaboys on stage,
ACCELERATION guarantees a fantastic entertaining festival. Saturday will
be concluded with a dance event with DJs like Showtek and Jacob van
Hage as Resident DJ.
On top of the three-day spectacular racing
event and the two-day vibrant music festival, several side events will
offer hospitality, shopping, entertainment for kids and numerous other
attractions.
